[Your Company Name] is looking for a fast, creative, and "terminally online" Short-Form Video Editor to create engaging, thumb-stopping, and viral-worthy content for our TikTok and Instagram accounts.
This isn't your typical video editing job. We're not looking for polished corporate videos.
We're looking for someone who understands the native language of TikTok and Reels—someone who can create content that feels authentic, timely, and shareable.
You will be our eyes and ears on the pulse of internet culture, turning raw footage into content that demands attention.
What You'll DoBe the Trend Master:
Actively monitor TikTok and Instagram Reels daily to identify emerging trends, viral sounds, popular filters, and new content formats.
Create & Edit at Scale:
Rapidly edit raw video footage (from phone or professional cameras) into high-energy, compelling short-form videos.
Tell Stories (Fast): Use sharp cuts, engaging text overlays, and perfectly timed music/sounds to tell a story or deliver a message in 15-60 seconds.
Master the Platforms:
Natively edit within apps like CapCut and InShot, as well as proficiently use professional software like Adobe Premiere Pro.
Add the "Viral" Polish:
Skillfully add on-screen text, captions, and graphics that align with platform best practices (e.g., "hook" text in the first 3 seconds).
Pitch & Brainstorm:
Actively participate in content brainstorming sessions, bringing your trend knowledge to the table to pitch new video concepts.
Collaborate:
Work closely with our marketing/social media team to align video content with our brand voice, campaigns, and growth goals.
Organize:
Manage and organize a library of video assets for quick turnaround times.
Qualifications & Who You Are
A Killer Portfolio:
This is a must. We need to see your work. Your portfolio should be packed with TikToks and Reels you've edited (please specify your role in each).
Platform Native:
You have a deep, personal, and professional understanding of the TikTok and Instagram Reels algorithms and ecosystems.
Speed is Key:
You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can turn around high-quality edits on tight deadlines.
Technical Skills:
Expert proficiency in at least one professional editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) AND a mobile-native editor (CapCut is highly preferred).
A Great Sense of Rhythm:
You know how to match cuts to a beat and create a pace that holds viewer attention.
A Creative Eye:
You have a strong sense of visual aesthetics, composition, and what looks "good" on a phone screen.
Self-Sufficient & Proactive:
You don't wait to be told what the next trend is; you're already editing it.
Bonus Points (We'd love it if...)
You have experience with basic motion graphics (Adobe After Effects) or graphic design (Canva, Photoshop).
You have a fantastic, sharp sense of humor.
You've personally grown a TikTok or Instagram account (even if it's just for fun).
