Kindergarten Education Assistant

The Kindergarten Education Assistant will support the lead teacher in fostering young children's overall development, with a special focus on emergent literacy skills. This role involves creating and maintaining literacy-rich and engaging learning environments, facilitating language development, and encouraging curiosity, creativity, and self-expression. The assistant will work closely with the lead teacher and atelierista to integrate literacy into art, science, nature, and project-based activities. They will provide individualized and small-group support, adapting activities to developmental levels and promoting bilingual or multilingual expression when applicable. Additionally, the role emphasizes promoting children's voice and agency, helping them actively participate in storytelling, writing, and collaborative learning experiences.

Responsibilities

• Observe and document childrens learning, development, and engagement in daily activities.
• Collaborate with the lead teacher to plan and implement age-appropriate activities in inquiry, literacy, and numeracy.
• Provide guidance and ensure the safeguarding of early years children at all times.
• Support conflict resolution using gentle, positive discipline approaches.
• Facilitate a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that promotes curiosity, creativity, and social-emotional growth.
