Expert Climate Change Mitigation Specialist, Ecuador

ACDI/VOCA is seeking experts to lead a Climate Change Mitigation through Sustainable Land Use Activity in Ecuador funded by USAID. The anticipated program will promote sustainable livelihoods and advance natural climate solutions in areas affected by deforestation and land degradation through greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction and mitigation efforts.

The positions will be based in Ecuador and are expected to start in 2025. We are looking for candidates with expertise in sustainable livelihoods and economic opportunities, agriculture and agroforestry production systems and supply chains, governance and policy, including natural resource governance, and finance mechanisms for agricultural and environmental activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce GHG emissions and mitigate the effects of deforestation and land degradation.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders to promote sustainable livelihoods and advance natural climate solutions.
  • Provide technical assistance to support the development of green economy initiatives and projects.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, minimum 7 years of experience in the relevant field, and fluency in English and Spanish. Ecuadorian nationals are strongly encouraged to apply.

We offer a competitive salary, estimated at $80,000 per annum, and a comprehensive benefits package.
