We're seeking a Senior AI & Data Engineer in Quito to help us take vision to value and create lasting impact.
We are looking for a seasoned Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize data pipelines within the AWS ecosystem. This role requires someone comfortable working independently in a client-facing environment, owning data solutions end-to-end.
You Will
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines within AWS.
Move and transform large volumes of data from multiple source systems into a centralized Data Lake (S3) and Redshift.
Develop ETL/ELT processes using AWS Glue, PySpark, and Python.
Implement data ingestion workflows using AWS DMS and Lambda functions.
Optimize Redshift data models and queries to support analytics and reporting needs.
Apply data modeling best practices to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability.
Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, ensuring data quality and integrity.
Implement CI/CD processes for data workflows within AWS environments.
Collaborate directly with client stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Act as the primary Data Engineer on the client engagement, working autonomously and managing priorities effectively.
Ideally, We'd Like
Strong experience as a Data Engineer working with large-scale data environments.
Hands-on experience with AWS data services, including Glue, Lambda, Redshift, DMS, and S3.
Solid understanding of data modeling concepts and best practices.
Intermediate-level SQL skills, including query optimization and performance tuning.
Intermediate-level Python skills for data transformation and pipeline development.
Experience working with AWS CI/CD pipelines.
Basic experience with PySpark for distributed data processing.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a client-facing role.
Ability to manage responsibilities autonomously while maintaining high-quality delivery standards.
