The Work You'll Do:

As a Senior Automation QA Engineer, you will train others, master the business logic for one product, and learn about other products. You bring a deep understanding of our quality, development, and deployment processes and are aligned to Sovos Best Practices. You demonstrate a strong level of leadership and mentoring skills, serving as a change agent who facilitates the implementation, acceptance, and sustainability of change within the workplace.

You maintain commitment to goals in the face of obstacles and frustrations, adjust effectively to work within new structures, processes, and requirements, and are committed to building an effective team by creating trust, encouraging healthy debate, establishing commitment, and creating joint accountability to drive results.

More specifically, you will:

• Share learnings in an engaging way and recognise when and how to share globally
• Focus on coaching and mentoring, delegating to other team members as needed
• Contribute to the most complex software delivery projects
• Facilitate larger-scale initiatives to build out and improve build automation and continuous integration
• Participate and collaborate on Class 1/2 issues
• Visualise the full picture and provide impact analysis to the team
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for multiple modules in a product or products
• Leverage AI-powered testing tools to enhance test automation, coverage, and efficiency
• Use clean-code best practices with all automation and write different types of automated tests
• Automate test cases/suites quickly and suggest improvements on automated tools or processes
• Build automation projects from scratch and participate on automation projects as repo owner
• Mentor and deliver feedback to team members, supporting other QA engineers by monitoring and helping
• Exhibit a strong sense of self-awareness and authenticity
• Build partnerships across the organisation to maximise collaboration
• Connect with other Product and Technology teams and initiate changes to improve QA involvement
• Maintain strong knowledge of Sovos Core Values and Global QA Practices to support other QA team members
• Introduce changes to Global QA Practices
• Communicate with impact consistently and foster collaboration between teams
• Support team decisions and share responsibility with the team for successes and failures

What We Need From You

• Technical Bachelor's degree
• 5-8 years of experience in quality assurance or related field
• Strong experience with Robot Framework with Selenium and Postman
• Knowledge of global software functionality and QA best practices
• Ability to help others inside and outside Product Development apply QA Best Practices
• Ability to identify technical improvements on QA procedures and best practices and suggest improvements on existing practices
• Experience with AI-powered testing tools and a willingness to integrate them into your workflow
• Ability to manage complexity and demonstrate resiliency to stress and tight timelines
• Ability to anticipate obstacles that may impact other products and teams
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to foster collaboration across teams
• Commitment to continuous improvement and personal development
