Procurement Director – Supply Chain
Role Description

The Procurement Director – Supply Chain is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing the procurement function within an organization, ensuring the seamless and cost-effective acquisition of goods, services, and materials essential for operations.

This position involves leading procurement strategy, supplier management, cost control, and risk mitigation across the supply chain.

The Director works closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, logistics, and finance, to align procurement goals with business objectives and ensure that sourcing decisions drive operational efficiency, cost savings, and sustainability.

Key responsibilities include the development and execution of procurement strategies to meet organizational needs, negotiating contracts with key suppliers, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with quality, regulatory, and sustainability standards.

The Procurement Director will also be responsible for implementing best practices in sourcing, developing and managing procurement policies, and leading procurement transformation initiatives to enhance process efficiency and agility.

As a leader, the Procurement Director will mentor and develop the procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring that team members are equipped with the tools and skills to succeed.

The Director will work to identify opportunities for process innovation, cost optimization, and risk reduction across the supply chain.

This position requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage a large, diverse portfolio of suppliers across multiple categories.

Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
Deep understanding of procurement strategy, sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
Expertise in supply chain management principles, including inventory management, demand planning, and logistics.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, manage, and develop high-performing teams.
Proficiency in procurement software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Ariba).
Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and manage complex supplier relationships.
Knowledge of supply chain risks, cost structures, and mitigation strategies.

Ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to drive alignment on procurement objectives and broader business goals.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Familiarity with sustainability practices and a commitment to sourcing responsibly and ethically.
Experience with developing and managing procurement policies and procedures that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Ability to manage complex projects and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
