We are seeking a
Program Manager
to lead strategic projects in the
Payments
area for a major international client in the financial industry.


Location:
Quito, Ecuador – On-site


Contract duration:
12 months (with possible extension)


Contract type:
Independent contractor


Role Objective

Define, prioritize, and manage the scope of strategic programs in acquiring and payments, ensuring the successful execution of key projects, coordination with multiple internal and external areas, and compliance with regulatory and innovation standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Define and prioritize the program's scope, goals, and initiatives in alignment with the client's strategy.
  • Lead cross-functional teams (operations, product, compliance, IT, risk, and finance).
  • Manage budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Monitor and report program performance to senior management.
  • Oversee initiatives to expand and optimize acquiring networks (POS, e-commerce, mobile payments).
  • Coordinate with payment schemes and local networks.
  • Drive the adoption of innovative products (contactless, QR, digital wallets).
  • Act as a liaison with executives, external partners, and regulatory bodies.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage vendors, including service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, security standards (PCI DSS), and internal risk frameworks.
  • Collaborate with compliance and legal teams for audits and regulatory reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement.
  • Analyze payment market trends and recommend new strategies and solutions.


Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Program Manager in the financial or payments sector.
  • Strong knowledge of acquiring, payments, and technology innovation projects.
  • Ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and data security standards in electronic payments.
