Quito Stack Builders

We're looking for a full-time HR & People Operations Lead to serve as the primary HR owner for our Ecuador office.


This role is ideal for an HR professional who is ready to step into a broader scope of responsibility, take ownership of local execution, and act as the day-to-day HR leader on the ground, while partnering closely with a global HR function on strategy, standards, and long-term planning.


You will report to the Director of HR (based in the US) and will lead employee engagement, in-office experience, and HR operations for Ecuador.

We are proud of our Human Resources department, and we are looking for someone who wants to strengthen and further build on these foundations.

While you won't be defining company-wide HR strategy on your own, you will own how that strategy comes to life locally.

Work Modality

This role requires in-office presence, usually 2-4 days per week in Quito

Responsibilities


In this role, you will:
Act as the local HR lead for the Ecuador office, serving as the primary point of contact for our team of 60+ employees and leaders
Own day-to-day HR execution in Ecuador, collaborating with other HR professionals (in Ecuador and abroad) to ensure a consistent, people-first employee experience closely tied to company strategy and objectives
Lead employee engagement efforts, including internal communications, in-office initiatives, events, and feedback loops
Partner with the Director of HR and a distributed HR team on workforce planning, organizational structure, and role clarity, while owning local execution
Create, maintain, and improve HR documentation, policies, and processes relevant to the Ecuador team
Collaborate with the Admin team on office logistics and employee-facing operations
Lead and coordinate in-office onboarding and offboarding experiences, ensuring a smooth, compliant, and people-centered transition for employees
Track engagement, onboarding, and retention-related metrics and insights, and proactively suggest improvements
Champion company values and goals, inclusion, and open communication across the Ecuador team

Requirements

What We're Looking For

Advanced spoken and written English (required)
Bachelor's degree in Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field
5+ years of professional experience, including 2-4+ years in HR, People Operations, or related roles
Experience owning HR processes, programs, or initiatives from end to end
Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills
Comfort working in a cross-cultural, international environment
Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
Familiarity with tools like Slack, BambooHR, Google Workspace, Asana, and Notion is a plus

Prefer to independently implement large-scale HR frameworks without alignment or collaboration
Are primarily interested in policy design at a global level rather than local execution and engagement
Expect a highly resourced HR team reporting to you immediately
