The Role

We're looking for a Conversational Designer to craft clear, natural, and effective AI-driven conversations. You'll design dialogue flows that balance user needs, brand voice, and complex business rules, and you'll continuously improve performance by analyzing interaction data and optimizing how the model responds in real-world scenarios.

About you

You're a language-first thinker with a strong foundation in linguistics and structural analysis (syntax, semantics, pragmatics). You can turn messy requirements into clean conversational logic, spot ambiguity before it becomes a production issue, and create personas/voice that feel consistent and human—without increasing cognitive load for users. You're collaborative and comfortable partnering with product, engineering, and stakeholders.

Requirements

3+ years of experience in Conversational Design, UX Writing, or Copywriting

Academic background in Humanities (Linguistics, English, Literature, Creative Writing) with the ability to apply structural language analysis to conversations

Experience designing logical flow architecture and translating complex business rules into decision trees, using tools like Figma, Miro, or Lucidchart

AI optimization skills: analyze interaction logs, identify fallback patterns, and curate example data to help "teach" better model behaviors

Strong Persona & Voice design skills to keep a consistent brand tone across touchpoints while reducing user cognitive load

Proven ability in ambiguity resolution, identifying double meanings and linguistic nuances to prevent bot errors

Bonus Skills

Technical literacy (basic Python or coding knowledge) to collaborate smoothly with engineering teams

Pedagogical background (teaching, ESL, translation)

Industry certification in Conversational Design (e.g., CDI, UX Writing Hub)

Hands-on experience with platforms like Dialogflow, IBM Watson, or Azure Bot Service

UX Research experience (empathy maps, data-driven insights) to refine dialogue and user journeys
