Scientific Drilling is seeking a
Field Engineer
to work in Ecuador and internationally. Scientific Drilling is an independent well navigation, gyro logging, MWD, and cased hole logging services company serving clients worldwide. Our industry-leading navigation systems provide definitive well location information, enabling more accurate and efficient placement of wells spaced around the globe. We are driven to create innovative and safe solutions to technically challenging problems.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between the company and clients on rigs and platforms.
- Plan and perform rig operations and troubleshoot field issues, both onshore and offshore.
- Ensure the required equipment is on site and fully functional.
- Ensure that survey data and the sequence of work events are recorded, prepared, quality controlled, certified, and submitted to the analysis team if necessary. They must also be archived to comply with company policies and customer requirements.
- Ensure that the company's quality policy and recommended operating procedures are followed and adhered to in the operation of all company equipment
- Perform work safely and in accordance with company and customer policy, and national legislation.
- Assist in functional testing, assembly, and preparation of work equipment.
- Process data and assist with daily operational matters as needed.
- Work alongside the Sales and Operations teams on customer visits, planning work, and explaining results.
- This position involves being on call 24 hours a day and being assigned to any district on a temporary basis.
- Perform shop/office duties when not assigned to field operations. Assist in training new staff when appropriate.
- Perform other relevant duties as required by management.
- This role is graded according to competency levels, with higher grades having responsibility for supervising junior engineers in marine environments.
Education, Experience, Certification, And Training
- University education in Science/Engineering disciplines or equivalent, and/or relevant oilfield experience.
- Job-specific training will be provided as needed. Proficient with Windows and basic Office programs.
- Complete marine medical and survival certificates to accommodate all areas of assignment as needed.
- It is the employee's responsibility to ensure all personal certification is up-to-date and maintained in accordance with current legislation.
